Background: Layla is introduced in the books fairly early on as a chosen, who feeds many of the brothers who are not mated, or are mated to humans (such as Rhage in the case where he is mated to Mary who is human). She is very close with Qhuinn and thinks herself in love with him for a while. He teaches her about sex and lies with her during her needing so that they both may have a chance at a child, someone for each of them to love, even though Qhuinn by this time knows he is in love with Blay. Layla becomes pregnant with Qhuinn's child/children. She is however drawn to Xcor, much to her dismay. Their story is told in "The Chosen", book 15 in the series
