Background: Marissa's story is told in the fourth book of the series, Lover Revealed.  She was Wrath's former shellan (wife) before he met and fell in love with Beth Randall. Theirs was a relationship based on the mutual need for blood more than anything. She is considered one of the species great beauties. She is a member of the glymera (vampire aristocracy). She fell out of favor with the glymera and her brother when she met and mated Butch. She presently runs "Safe Place", a home for abused/battered women within the vampire race.

Relationships:  She is mated to Butch. Sister to Havers (vampire races main Dr.), who as noted above she fell out of favor with when she married Butch. Former shellan to Wrath.
